About us

Christopher Foster and Mark Burns are experienced independent financial advisers. Christopher is a qualified Pension Transfer Specialist and Chris and Mark have wide experience in advising personal and corporate clients.

Christopher Foster

Christopher Foster began his career as a Financial Adviser in 1994 with the bank he worked full time in since 1987.

In 1997 he became an Independent Financial Adviser after realising it is only possible to provide the best advice when the planning is not restricted to a limited set of products.

Christopher has worked for several private banks and within accountancy practices dealing with a wide range of planning issues. This has involved many responsibilities, including being a trustee of a major bank pension scheme and being a member of bank and adviser investment committees.

He is a qualified Pension Transfer Specialist and also works as a volunteer adviser for The Pensions Advisory Service. His aim is to help people use their money to make a positive difference in their lives.

 

Mark Burns

Mark joined us as a partner in April 2017.

As a Corporate & Personal Financial Planning Adviser with over 20 years’ experience within financial services he advises clients within a wide range of areas.

I’m committed to delivering better value & choice for both my personal & corporate clients & I firmly believe that in providing my clients with a much greater understanding of what they already have, I can provide them with a much clearer path towards their financial ‘goal’. My clear, easily understandable, jargon-free language style & delivery is key to this understanding”.

For more than 20 years, he has been helping individuals, families & businesses reach their financial goals. After receiving his Diploma in Financial Planning from The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), he has continually enhanced his knowledge & expertise through pursuing further professional courses from both the CII & Pensions Management Institute (PMI).

As well as a wide knowledge of dealing with the needs of private individuals, over the last 12 years he has also dealt extensively with company owners & shareholders (both current & retired). The vast majority have also become personal financial planning clients of his whilst undertaking this journey.

Personal Planning areas of experience: Tax-efficient investment planning; Retirement Planning including the new flexible ‘pensions freedoms’ income options; Pension reviews including Final Salary schemes; Inheritance Tax Planning (including placing monies in trust for spouses/children)

Corporate Planning areas of experience include: Business Protection Planning (Shareholder protection, Keyman & ‘Relevant Life’ arrangements); Company Owner / Directors Pensions (SIPPs, SSAS, Personal Pensions, Stakeholder pensions; Investment of company monies; Auto Enrolment & Workplace Pensions legislation
